The move you guys are talking about is the meteor version of a wibble with poi. For those of you that don't know what wibbling is here's Matt Terry.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=4XiwnxHV2xU

If you apply the concept behind wibbles to the meteor there are alot more things you can do since the meteor is much longer then your average counterweighted poi.

When you wibble poi you are wibbling from the handle back to the handle everytime or another way to put it, whenever you flip the poi back up it does one full rotation or more in the air (I know you can wibble from the head as well but for this discussion I am going to leave that out). With a meteor, you can wibble from head to head since the heads are evenly weighted and it is a much longer prop. This opens up alot of oppurtunity for play since you are not confined to a 360 degree rotation. You can wibble from head to the other head (180 degrees) , from one head to the same head (360 degrees, like poi), you can do more then 360 degrees of rotation, you can roll your hand up the length of the meteor to the other end instead of flipping it up in the air, and at any point in time you can grab hold of the meteor and begin to spin it normally again. It really is quite useful and can even be used to change direction in an interesting way you can even go right into bf from it.

I left out wibbling a poi from the head in the above paragraph because although it works, it is much harder to do because of the weight distribution head:handle. The poi often ends up rotating very fast and is hard to control. With a meteor, because of the even distribution of weight from end to end and it's length, it is much easier to control while wibbling from end to end.

I was loving that same move, where he stalled it out. I was actually thinking of trying to play around with that move and see if I could get it to go up around and into a sort of staff-like angel roll.

As for the rope, Im torn. Silk sounds soft, but I dont care for the S-twist design. I much prefer diamond braid.

nice moves. I liked that the way you stopped the meteor by sliding your hand up to one end. interesting move ill have to play with that.

you've inspired me to make more meteor videos. I'll try and get some out soon.

speaking of making a meteor I was about to try out this kind of rope http://www.butterflyrope.com/ anyone ever played with it before?

So I shot this at 8 this morning, after a very long weekend so I am def not at my sharpest. Still, I think the video demonstrates some of the ideas and concepts I've been mentioning on here as of late and hopefully some ideas I have yet to discuss. Critiques, comments, and feedback is greatly appreciated! : )

Here's the video!

(I think that this is also my first video using a prop other then poi)
