Id like to see some more meteor videos on the web. I have only seen one. I know enough to put a well made basics video up. I hear there are some crazy kick ass kids in Seattle that I would love to see.

Whos down to make some vids?

Any work on this.. been playing with meteor for a few days now.. loving it. Got lots to learn, but I've got a relatively good start. Would love to see some vids of what's being done with meteors tho. The best meteor work I've seen to date was a clip from Cirque du Soleil's Varekai, but I can't seem to find the vid anywhere any more.

Anyways, just curious if there's anyhting new on the vid front, meteor is a difficult thing to search for.

    Peace,
    - Sui

ah, you should if you get the chance, anytime. From what I hear those kids have even more mindbending tricks recently with meteor. I heard something about horizontal throws into full body wraps. I'm working on getting some meteor footage online for Jared here soon, will have to wait until after Firedrums tho.

Varekai has a nice meteor act, but there's better. The Varekai act has good production value and costumes, but the old Cirque du Soliel show called "La Magie continue" (I believe their second show ever) has it's meteor act finale number. It blew me away. Check it out if you ever get a chance. I just have the DVD and no web link.
Their style of meteor is nothing like what I do or have seen done live. It's all about the fast wrist flicks, and all same direction. No butterfly stuff, or poi stuff.

traditional chinese meteor work, I've seen that act, 2 guys and a girl right? Sick sick. The forward tiger rolls with horizontal spins, yum. Interesting throws in that vid too, looks as if they're thowing from a flat palm spin(from one partner to another), feck if I have that throw yet ;) And then there's the cartwheels during horizontal spins, some of that looks extremely close to chain whip forms that I've seen. Anyone else play around with the groundwork ala planting one hand and spinning your body aroud the hand bit? Easy to transfer into btl lying on your back from there..
