Trick Transition

Hey all,
I am really new to meteor (about 2 months) and fire art in general. The problem is everyone I know that does this kind of art is on the other side of the country from me, so I have to go about it on my own. I had a question about transitioning from one trick to another. Most of them seem fairly natural to me except for coming into and out of the helicopter. Could someone enlighten me on a way to do this smoothly without getting a face full of fire? I was thinking of going down into the helicopter perpendicular to the ground (windmill is what someone called it, I think) and then into something else. However, this seems like a long transition to get out of the helicopter. Thanks for any input you guys have.

P.S. There's a huge contingent of fire folk in western Mass. You should get together with us.

I appreciate the offer, but right now I am without any type of transportation past a bike. However, I am moving to Philadelphia and going to buy a car eventually so I think that I will be both better at spinning and free to roam then.

There are a lot of fire folks in Philly. When are you moving?

I am moving out there in late May after I am through with this semester of college. Currently working on both meteor and poi as the fire goes. Also some hand drumming stuff that I am just beginning to pick up. I would love to meet up with you guys.
