I propose that we have a meteor and fire rope dart workshop in hawaii at some point this fall, maybe preburning man? This is completely a late night off the top of my head proposal but it would be alot of fun, a few intensive meteor days.

If it's pre-burningman, then it'd be this summer. I live in Hawaii, so that'd be handy for me, especially if y'all came to the island of Maui. However, I'll be leaving at the beginning of August for a month of travel prior to b-man. So, all that said, how's July look for everybody? If it happens, and it happens on Maui, I've got space for people to crash for a few days, and I know of a cool Hostel in a cool town called Paia, too.

Also, on my trip in August, I'll be in Seattle, WA and Virginia Beach, VA. If any of you are in those areas let me know because I'd love to spin with ya.

Zach, if you are going to be in Seattle around burning man then maybe Lareina could come down to SF too and we could all get together and have a workshop just before or just after burning man!?!?

How long are you going to be here after burning man? I think we should do it before but we'll see. Hey maybe we can do it at burningman too!!

It wouldn't be to hard or expensive for you to take the train to SF =]

The three of us could get together for a night and teach each other, practice, and talk about how we want to run the class. I have the perfect place for us to hold the class that we might be able to use for free. I have enough connects in the SF fire community to where I'm sure we could get a lot of people to come.

We would have to make a bunch of practice meteors but I can do that no problem and maybe we can sell them for a reasonable price.

BTW, do we want to make some money?\, I don’t care about making any cash, I love to teach but maybe we can make enough to recoup your travel costs.

You (Zach), my self and Lareina could teach a kick ass meteor course!! Especially sense there are not to many people that do it.

We could have a 3 or 4 hour workshop a few nights in a week and charge and acceptable amount.

      What do you think?

Yes, that sounds like a lot of fun! As far as timing goes, it'd be nice to do pre-burningman, I may not be available, unfortunately. I get into Seattle, WA from Virginia Beach, VA on the 21st of August. At which point I need to find a vehicle, and prep all my belongings for burningman, plus drive to burningman by the 29th of August. So, I've got about a week. If I'm lucky, I'll find a vehicle when I'm Seattle prior to Virginia Beach at the beginning of August, and could have it pre-packed and ready to go for when I got back. I have no guarantee of this, however, and wouldn't want anyone to be assuming that were the case. I would know by the 12th of August if I've found a vehicle prior to Virginia Beach, and could let you know...

Wow, that's a buncha wishy-washy contingencies, but does give you an idea of what'll be going on for me in August. ^_^ So, yes, I'd love to do a workshop in SanFran, and vehicle providing, I could drive down in the week prior to burningman. Otherwise, I'll be hitching a ride to B-man with friends from Seattle or Vancouver, and have no control over our itinerary. Alas.

After B-man, post-personal-decompression, is also very possible. I'll be roadtripping for months on end, and will definitely be stopping in SanFran at least once.

As far as practice meteors go, if you've got rope and golf balls, I can tie monkeyfists. We could even do it as a part of the class, if we felt like teaching people to tie a monkeyfist. They could even bring their own rope and golf balls.

At burningman is definitely doable. I'll be there, vehicle or no vehicle, with meteor in hand. :)

All in all, I say it's a good idea.

i am definitely in. After burning man is looking like a good possibility right now actually. There is life after bm even though it may not seem like it:) I'm going to be som burnt out in august anyways. I like the idea of running a cheap workshop with just the aim to recoup costs for getting to sanfran.

well I think we should get together at burning man and teach a class and see how it goes. I can bring rope and golf balls (never used those before, gatta give it a try) and we can teach people how to make and spin there very own meteor. Thats a perfect playa gift =P

Zach, when knwo when you are going to be in SF let me know and we'll get together and sping, I need to learn some new tricks and i love to teach!!

i cant wait to see you both at BM, I'll be camping with the DDI crew in BORG2

            WOOOWHOOOO! im excited

Awesome, it's gonna be fun! I think I'm gonna camp on my own this year, just set up a little tent next to my vehicle (assuming I have one), and call it good. I never spend any time at my camp, except to crash. I like being around 3 o'clock, so I'll likely be around there towards the outer roads (but not too close to the p-potties, yuck).
