Tue, October 17, 2006 - 11:41 PMVery well done video Dee, I'm impressed.
its fucking wicked to see someone else as passionate about meteor spinning as I have been. It really too bad we didn't get a chance to meet up at the burn this year. that would have rocked.
You and I do just about the same array of tricks give or take. I would love to see what your fire meteor design looks like. You look like you have mastered a few things i haven't gotten around to learning. Have you done any contact meteor?
again, very well done!! cheers.

Re: New Fire Meteor Video...
Wed, October 18, 2006 - 9:43 AMvery nice. Meteor is really impressive in its simplicity.
That said, I need to get some vid of the contact horseshit moves I've been messing around with lately. I'd love to hear some meteor-god input. 3-beat fishtails seem quite do-able (half fishtail to open-handed propellor to half fishtail to prop...), linking body wraps and keeping the rope straight is difficult. -

Thu, October 19, 2006 - 12:55 PMyeah man!!! tightness in simplicity!!! that one handed vertical staff spin is sweet, your style is suuper tight....thanks for putting that together-totally inspiration for more....
sam-i've been workin on some fishtails as well, although i've found that i'm leaning more towards doing them just like the staff...ie one beat on each side...that being said, i can only link a few of them together until it flies off my wrist into the wild blue yonder-i think the three beat has a bit more control...and i've been working on a simple contact move-passing from one hand to a rotation on my back then grabbing it out of my armpit in front with the same hand-hypothetically we should be able to do most contact staff moves with the meteor, right? yeah right!?!? -

"we should be able to do most contact staff moves with the meteor, right? yeah right!?!?"
I fully agree with this... Anything that you can do with a staff can be done with the meteor. It just has to be done at a speed that will keep the meteor ridged. So you cant "balance" it like you can a staff. But all the "spinning" contact moves should be able to be done with the meteor. I've just started to watch some contact staff. I haven’t seen allot but what I have seen seams doable. So break out the cameras and lets see some meteor representation.
