I know this is just a hilariously boasty message, but I just got a few catches of a new trick and I think it's terrific.
Throw a helicopter, and while it is in the air above you get into the position in the middle of a behind-the-back transfer for a helicopter (bent over forwards with hands behind). Use the recieving hand (depending upon the rotation) to catch behind the back while using the other hand to protect your face or cover your eyes. SUPER CRAZY.
It's basically throwing a big horizontal circle, then catching it behind your back while bending over with your eyes closed. I'd love to prove it's not a joke, but can't make it to BM this year. Anybody else working on trick catches? I think staff people do this kinda thing, right?
I'll be in the bay area this September for a while though. Meteor Jam Decompression?

Re: Meteor Munchausen
Thu, August 18, 2005 - 8:18 AMWow, I like how one hand is the business hand and the other is the "oh my god I'm gonna kill myself" hand. I have yet to get my helicopter throws down but when I do I'm sure to try it.
I think that a meteor jam/meteor workshop in september sounds great. I would have to come out from Arizona but I'm always looking for excuses to go to the bay area:) I know that I'm gonna learn tons at BM that I'm gonna want to take home, practice and play with and a meteor jam would be perfect to bring it all together. We could even do a video. -

Thu, August 18, 2005 - 11:50 AMschweet..too bad my heli throws are still 8 feet in front of me :( I wonder tho, if you could bounce it off your back into another throw?? Funny that, I'll be in the SF area for a bit a little after BM too, video, yesss :) -

back bouncing
Thu, August 18, 2005 - 12:44 PMYeah, that bouncing off the back is totally there! The trick I've been working on is bouncing it off one shoulder back into the air. The shoulder is easier to monitor than the back, but it's hard to turn your body to cradle it during the bounce. Unless you were talking about bouncing it from a hand behind the back, which might be easier.
